Pitted Keratolysis
This is most commonly seen on the undersurface of the feet. It is common.
Well defined erosions are seen on the surface of the skin. This appears
to be because the bacteria eat away at the keratin surface of the skin
producing small craters and erosions. There is no inflammation associated
with this. It usually does not produce any symptoms.
Treatment:
Usually drying the skin with anti-perspirants can be very beneficial
Topical antibiotics can also be of benefit.
